Do I have to pay tax if I win?
Updated 2024-04-12
No, you don't! 🌟 Since all lottery winnings are randomly selected, they are tax-exempt. You get to keep everything you win without paying any taxes, no matter if it's cash, a gift card, or another kind of prize.
Keep in mind, if you win a cash prize on a game show such as Postkodmiljonären or Drömpyramiden, you might be subject to paying tax as it’s based on your performance.

- Prizes: about 40% of the revenues are returned to participants in the lottery in the form of prizes.
- Operations: about a third is used for our operating expenses such as IT, staff, and marketing, ensuring an efficient lottery that can fulfill both big and small dreams.

What should I do if I suspect fraud?
Updated 2024-04-08
Have you received a call from someone claiming to be from the Postcode Lottery?
There have been instances of fraud attempts where the caller uses pre-recorded messages that falsely inform you of winning and instruct you to press 1 to speak to a "bank manager", leading to an English-speaking individual who may ask for your bank account number.
Please be aware that these calls do not originate from the Postcode Lottery.
We never request bank details over the phone to pay out a prize. Official calls from the Postcode Lottery will come from our customer service number 0771-22 55 22.
If you receive a call as described above, hang up immediately and report it to us. We also recommend that you report the incident to the police. For your safety and that of others, the Postcode Lottery has already filed a police report regarding these fraudulent attempts.
Your security is our priority. Thank you for helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Which organizations does the Postcode Lottery support?
Updated 2024-04-12
When you participate in the Swedish Postcode Lottery, you're part of something bigger. The surplus is fully allocated to support 61 non-profit organizations, which in recent years has amounted to around one billion SEK per year. These funds help improve the lives of people, preserve endangered species, and drive important environmental projects all around the world.
Thanks to the commitment from people participating in the lottery, these non-profit organizations can continue their vital work. Every ticket plays a role in creating positive change.
So from all of us, and those who benefit from your support: a big thank-you! 💚
